Hi all, I am totally new to this world. I have no programming nor game engine knowledge but I have much of willpower and I have the basical idea that nothing in this world is impossible.
I have a particular idea in my mind about a realistic space RTS in 3D. This is why I first choosen Unity instead simpler game engine like RPG Game Maker or similar, I think that there are too much simple for my need and I hate fast, stupid game with shallow gameplay.
I've played a lot with Kerbal Space Program and in my spare time I'm surfing on the net reading astronomy and celestial mechanics basis.
Said this, I started to watch tutorial, blog, and answers and what I did by now is a free-camera moving in an infinite starfield plus a very simple menu. Next step is to place the Earth in it's real size (6.371 km) with it's rotation (465,11 m/s) and the Sun to the correct distance (1UA).
Now, I can understand that create a similar ambient in Unity would be very hard so I think that one possibility is to decrease all measures with a fixed ratio (i.e. /2 or /3) but I don't find anywhere how to do this task.
I have download some free asset from the Asset Store because I am not good in 3D model but I don't understand how to modify the size to recreate that real ambience (I don't play with the Inspector like a kid, I am sure that there be a correct way).
How would you do this?
Ps: sorry for my english, I am not native.
Thank you
